Of course, there is more than nationalism at play as well. The bankers and politicians seem to enjoy playing silly games as well. It looks like the record Chinese copper buying in December is resulting in bigger stockpiles in the warehouses. Manipulate the prices down on global and national issues and buy the dips. Nice work if you can get it.....

Thankfully the CUU buyout should be done before any real damage is done to the copper prices. The three year trailing prices still look good.
