People will sell their losers, take the money and put it in the most obvious short term winner.

If anything tax loss season should generate some buying. (from those who know the story of course)

It's just a matter of releasing the BFS and starting the 120 days.

The buyout should happen in that 120 day period. The longs will wait it out with a smile and be happy to transfer more shares in various TFSA, if Teck goes the distance.
