Monday should be a very interesting day for Copper Fox (CUU)
The BFS, completion of which was announced on Dec 21, to much criticism, although it demonstrated an economic mine, will reach the 45 day mandatory legal requirement for SEDAR filing
It is generally believed that this will initiate the 120 day back in window for Teck to opt in or not
In any case, Teck must deliver their indirect interest in the property in the form of Liard shares, upon notice of a positive BFS, which will bring the outright ownership of the Schaft Creek deposit by Copper Fox up to 94%
So will Teck back in, for basically no cost, into a proven economic deposit in BC with infrastructure and no enviro or first nations issues, and sufficient precious metal credits to cover the cost of copper mining, or rely on Peru and Chile to cover their copper production future
The informed holders of the 75% of closely held shares think Teck will want it, and build it out with Copper Fox remaining interest being carried by Teck to production, if they don't sell it
