as noted, Premier Clark wants mining jobs in BC; so Pacific Booker and Taseko are in dispute, and another very contraversial copper mine proposal which is facing very still opposition is Ajax on the city of kamloops limits - even the local steelworkers union is in opposition along with half the city population. The Yellowhead copper mine proposal north of Kamloops, which was showing promise has recently hit a major hurdle due to hydro concerns.

This is one of the reasons i feel SC is in an enviable position.
