I have the mineral rights to my farm. Within days of securing these rights I received a letter from the BC Government. It reminded me that before I do any exploration work I must consult with the FN that considers my property to be part of their traditional territory.
These native land claims have not been settled with the government.
I would imagine Teck would want a negotiated contract with the Tahltan before they announce intentions to proceed to production.
The fact that the Tahltan and CUU have a good relationship may make this project even more desirable to Teck. As FN in other parts of the province may be less inclined to do business because of hard feelings they have toward the government and corproations.
