I think it will affect "all" mines.
In my line of work...we deal with our U.S. counter part. At times when the meetings are done, you just want to shake your head in disbelief and take a bath because you feel like you just got raped.
I totally agree that Alaska has thier land and we have ours, Thats why there is a boundry line.
Its like we say here in Ontario, You look after your side of the lake and we'll look after ours. "Sounds nice and firm, but in reality....you can't".
Even thou I agree with everyone here that says it should have no barring on Schaft Creek.THe end resolve is...they (Alaska) will be involved. That is why I am happy that Teck is now incharge.
Teck in the past years have set them selves up nicely in the political eye and the publics eye, as far as I am concerned. I think Teck will have no choice but to take there time and do this "right". Even thou they know they will have to deal with the tree huggers.
This might take more time then people think, it sounds terrible to say that but all and all, in the long run. Teck will get permitted and things will go forward.
From what I have wittnessed first hand in Lake Erie with what our Canadian industry has to deal with on a daily bussiness...WOW.
Teck is the right company to have in control right now. If Teck never took controlling interest...it would be much much worst.
