How come we did not hear from Elmer what was paid for those shares?

We didn't pay anything for the shares. It appears that Teck paid for them as part of the pre-production costs. (I cut and pasted the relevant JV sections the other day.)

Because we didn't pay for them, we don't report it. Teck paid for them but it is not material to their stock—only to ours—so they didn't report it either.

My guess is this was the reason we didn't pay for them because according to the JV we should have.
