I asked Copper Fox (via email), the following question:
Please help me to understand why this remodeling work on the Schaft Creek project keeps getting postponed. It is making me nervous that there is something seriously wrong with the project.
[Sept – 3rd quarter] The remodeling work on the Schaft Creek deposit was advanced during the Quarter and is expected to be completed in the fourth Quarter of 2017.
[June – 2nd quarter] The remodeling work at Schaft Creek is continuing to determine if an updated resource estimation is required.
[March – 1st quarter] “The primary focus in 2017 is to complete the resource remodeling for the Schaft Creek project.
[Feb – Extension] The 2017 work program includes completion of the resource remodeling of the Schaft Creek deposit
[Sept, 2016 – 3rd quarter] The resource remodeling of the Schaft Creek deposit is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter 2016.
This was the response I received from Copper Fox:
With regard to your question we advise that since the initial announcement of the timeline provided to Copper Fox from the operator it became apparent that the amount of work required to incorporate over 50 years of exploration on the project into the resource remodel would take longer than estimated. Each section of this report has been reviewed and approved by the operator, Copper Fox and an independent consultant before moving onto the next section.
Copper Fox agrees with the operator that getting the remodel done correctly takes precedence over completing it within a timeline, however, a more accurate timeline from the onset would have helped alleviate some nervousness amongst our shareholders.
Copper Fox has not been advised of any information that would indicated there is something seriously wrong with the project and will be disseminating a news release upon receipt of the completed resource remodel.
