I'm of two minds looking at this CUU chart:
The depression in the share price over the past several years corresponds with the depression I've experienced personally on many a day while looking at the value of my diminished portfolio.
The chart resembles a metals cycle playing out. Of course as long as we're down the list of priorities in Teck's pipeline, nobody can say with any certainty when this damn stock will pay out.
But I still get flickers of excitement at the prospect of picking up more CUU shares at maybe 3 or 4 cents (even 6 cents is such a bargain). Just thinking of the multiples that could be realized when we finally hit another spike like the ones in 2007 and 2011. That would be the retirement jackpot and I wouldn't be foolish/greedy enough to keep holding beyond $2 like I did back in 2011-2012.
The potential is there. But the potential has been there for well over a decade. NOBODY foresaw us languishing at these pathetic depths for as long as we have.
Someday we'll have our moment in the sun again. Just hope we're all still around to enjoy it.
