It seems Capstone is taking that approach for its Santa Domingo mine. Keeping its risk low by not being greedy. 
Teck has indicated it is happy with lower  ownership but no risk for its satellite projects. 
I wouldn't mind a steady dividend as long as CF left some money in its coffers to explore and have growth potential
