Happy Fall from Florence Copper! We hope you are staying cool as we bid goodbye to a very hot summer season. As we look forward to a season of cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice, and fun fall events, all of us at Florence Copper want to express how grateful we are for your continued support. On top of the excitement of the fall season, Florence Copper is at an important point in our project’s development.
Florence Copper is pleased to announce that as part of the National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 process, our Programmatic Agreement (“PA”) has been finalized. The PA outlines requirements for the treatment, handling, and protection of cultural resources on site.
Finalizing the PA is an important sign that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preparing to issue our final Underground Injection Control (UIC) permit in the near future. This is a major milestone for our project on its path to commercial operations, following the successful public comment period in late 2022 that demonstrated strong support for Florence Copper among local residents, business organizations, community leaders, and state-wide organizations.
While we await the UIC permit, we continue to prepare for the construction of the commercial facility by acquiring necessary materials and equipment. If you've driven by our site recently, you may have seen some of this equipment (see above for a picture!).
The team at Florence Copper looks forward to keeping you updated as we progress on our path to becoming America’s next major copper producer.
We hope you have a great fall season!
