Anyone who underestimates the power of Indigenous people to use the court system to stop mining development is fooling themselves. 

The proposed Copper Pebble Mine in Alaska, a behemoth of a project, is not going ahead due to various factors. Opposition by First Nations is chief among them (pardon the pun).
