There's been report today that Rio Tinto is thinking of buying out Teck.

 

Federal government gave the okay to met coal a they didn't consider it as critical minerals (lol) but in a way warn others they should stay away from the base metal business of Teck.

 

I don't know how they can block that where coal revenue is from 100% Canadian assets whereas the Canadian portion of Teck's base metal revenue is very minor.
