If you believe we will have a significant increase in share price before October 1st then it may be advisable to do the transaction now and pay the extra $55 in over contribution tax for September. It would mean paying less income tax on earnings of the $5500 in your non-registered account. Again, we're all in different situations with our account/s but it may be to your advantage to consider an even earlier transfer.
