The Boyles 56 was bought so they could drill with bigger drill core pipe which is more stable at deeper depths and provides more sample when you have a lot of VG. Some Geo's out here in BC and especially if they are from Australia want even bigger core or HQ for gold deposits. The 56 can handle 5600 feet (1700M) of NQ at 90 degrees to horizontal with fluid (water) for drilling. Angle and HQ or PQ core drilling would be substantially less.

The Bison project is 10000M and will be over $1M. Last year it would have been 50% more. 32000 ft will take 60-80 drilling days depending on depth, number of moves etc.

I believe Wynn Drilling has already contracted to drill for Cougar. Whether the 56 does it or one of the 37's depends on how much core San can process I would think. In June they shut all 4 rigs down for 2 weeks to catch up and there is the option of working more shifts. Right now they work 10 days on 4 off.

Don't take this for gospel, I'm only guessing based on how we do it in the Kooteenays.
