Hey Rookie, not all institutions are clear on what they can do as this TFSA is new . I see you are dealing with Two different brokerages and different accounts. Yes your RRSP can be swaped into your TFSA , depending what Institution you are dealing with. I know you can swap between the two either for cash or high priced shares. I guess if you see a higher value in a junior ( SKP COU BGE WEL ) THEN it is worth a swap. I guess since your shares are in a Self-Directed RRSP then you will have to pay Tax because you are making a withwithdral from a registerd acccount you have been credited for from a previous tax saving. I guess from a full brokage perspective knowing the in and out of how to play the game the sky is the limit.I have transferred like posted before from my cash account into my TFSA 150,000 shares of COU at .11 for SKP at .35. I see big upside for both and i like playing the share ratio on the Greens. I see the Greens being the next RED LAKE and all the players will do well...I find it hard to explain this TFSA as good friends and a very smart men RES-INVESTOR and Hotmuck said to me, you have to do your DD as their is so many different characters playing on the Greens and you have to know how to stay in the game . Long On The Greens Traps7...ps. i find it much easier to just explain through the phone as i have typing dissabilities. IN-BOX A NUMBER
