Sometimes we Norte Americans expect that things will happen in Venezuela like they would here. In other words, our view of reality is based on assumptions that work here, like "rule of law" or fair treatment in the business environment.
In 1999, I believed the Supreme Court (VZ) would rule in favor of Kry, because lower courts already had twice before. Precedence, rule of law and logic were obvious. But then............the court just refused to hear their case..........story over.
Now, it seems Kry has legal remedies. Venezuela wouldn't, couldn't favor Chinese or Russian companies vs KRY. If we can't get an environmental permit neither could they. We have a contract, iron clad.
I hope these aren't just assumptions based on my view of how things are supposed to work in a developed country.
