Vanessa didn't take that approach with KRY so I doubt that its an option for a similar KRY-RML situation. Anyway, I am more concerned with the possibility that VZ actually cares more about the rainforest than they do about the gold. Ecuador also plans to ban open pit mining in the rainforest.
