I'll keep the R.C.G. on for one final post...None of us can understand the incongruity of Ortega's April 30th pronouncement in light of the approvals given by the Ministry which she runs. Perhaps that pronouncement was made for the "shock value". Perhaps she knew that there was no doubt that KRY would proceed (based on all of the facts). Perhaps she calculated to hit two birds with one stone...slapped the face of Sanz who she knew was in the process of overruling her, but at the same time sent a very strong signal that there would be NO NEW open pit mines requiring fresh deforestation in pristine forest areas (remember Hugo's previous law allowed mining in most of the rain forest)...Perhaps...perhaps...perhaps. Time to go to sleep.
