I totally agree with what you said.
But In Hugo's mind he sees socialistic progress, kind of like Nero playing a fiddle as Rome burnt to the ground.
In the beginning of Chavez's Presidency. I had much hope that truth and justice were the ground on which Chaves trod, much to my amazement that turned out to be untrue. Many years have passed and his Political Agenda has nothing to do with truth and justice only about Hugo himself and his ideology. He has surrounded himself with alias of which the "western word" and the US are not to keen on, specially Russia. As Winston Churchill said after the Potsdam Conference " never trust a Russia", It appears he was right. Just look at Georgia. I digress, sorry.
Hugo's style of socialism has cost many dearly, not only financially but most importantly in a much more predominant unrenewable energy, called time. A lot of us old timers got caught up in the "moment" way back and have been wighting a long time to receive some form of upwards compensation from our investments in KRY as good loyal and very patient shareholders, so far Zip.
The one thing I have learned is never invest in a country of which you do not speak or write the language nor understand the culture or the way of life and only believe in half of what you see and what you hear.
