Actually Las Cristinas has been a soap opera for over 30 years. I have been involved with it since 1996.

Also, the VZ government seems to pay fairly for nationalized assets. The first big one in recent years was AES and they walked away with a big smile on their faces. I believe Exxon took the VZ government to court; and, the entire political situation has changed now that oil is at $35 and VZ's heavey stuff even cheaper. This along with everything being reported on CNBC about Russia's financial problems and China's lack of interest. Poor Hugo is out on a limb.
