Agreed. Let not forget that Oil dropped from a high of $147 in June 2008 to todays price of around $37 which will have a negative impact on GDP per capita. Also note that his friends and russian allies will also be impacted (note where they are on a GDP per capita slighly ahead of Venezuela) so he should look for additional support elsewhere for help. We should however expect that he will not care about what others think and will do what he wants say so I expect more of the same rhetoric from Chavez the dictator.
