If you saw my post from a few days ago, I laid out several possibilities, around Polyus selling half of the company. I have no idea if tthe intent is to invest in VZ gold mining, but with all the references to Russia being a preferred partner, and the talk here about Russia getting 'paid back' for extending credit to Chavez, and selling them arms, it certainly seems like a possibility.
