Government and business proposals to save businesses CVG

Ciudad Guayana, 22 Abr. ABN .- The governor of Bolivar state join efforts with
the business of this entity to seek proposals and possible solutions to problems
faced in terms of economic and basic operating companies supervised by the
Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG).

This was announced by the governor of Bolivar, Francisco Rangel Gomez, after a
meeting with businessmen in the metal industry and services, made this
miíercoles in Ciudad Guayana.

"We have the basis that it is possible to push these companies through joint
work between the public and private sector, so we agreed to produce a report on
the status of factories protected by the CVG for submission to the national
government," said .

He explained that this report does not limit a diagnosis of the operational,
labor and financial holding company CVG, "but also include possible solutions
that can be implemented without delay."

He also said that as governor of Bolivar, "I will give my full support to assist
the authorities of the CVG and the Ministry of People's Power for Basic
Industries and Mining (Mibam) in this recovery plan."

Rangel Gómez said that dialogue with employers and service metal is a result of
the offer made earlier this year to act as mediator between the CVG, the
National Government and the business.

He recalled that the companies that produce aluminum, iron and steel generates
nearly 80 percent of the economic movement of Ciudad Guayana, Bolívar state's
main city.

"Some basic industries revolve many medium and small businesses, so this is a
problem in which we must mediate," he said.

There are now a global market collapse of aluminum, iron and steel, other metals
and raw materials, "the result of neoliberal policies implemented in the United
States, which led the market to a situation of inflation and speculation that
now affects nearly burst every country in the world. "

This fall in the market has affected the cash flow of the core business, which
in turn leads to delays and difficulties to cancel many private contractors and
suppliers who work for them, "he said.

At this point, noted that the report to be submitted not only to the authorities
of the CVG and Mibam but will be delivered to the Ministry of People's Power for
Planning and the Executive Vice President of the Republic.

In this regard, the president of the Chamber of Industrialists and Miners of
Ciudad Guayana, Goyenechea Fernando, believes that "this is the time to invest
and revive the core business."

He said that on Thursday April 23 will hold the first technical meeting between
businessmen and government of Bolivar, and that the final document to be
delivered to the national government may be ready in about 15 days.
