I agree that "irreparable harm" does not mean something necessarily bad for the company. It is a legal term of art that is used frequently. It simply means that release of the information at this time would result in damage to the business that cannot be compensated.
An example would be including trade secret information in a pleading, which is not uncommon. Such records are sealed to maintain the trade secret.
In the Crystallex case it could be information known to the company that the Venezuelan government has classified as information that cannot be publicly released at this time. Thus, the information could be good or bad, there is simply no way for us to know other than to examine the reaction of the noteholders.
