Wow MOM talk about stall tactics....all of this for 6-9 months on just who serves for the claimant. You can tell VZ does everything they can to drag these hearings out. Isn't it ironic VZ using US lawyers.

It's a given that NO ARBITOR will ever be acceptable to Venezuela....so it is guaranteed that each case will come with close to a one year delay due to standard stalling tactics implemented by counsel. The only case where this stall tactic would not make sense is if there was a GENUINE problem with the selected arbitor (i.e the guy is on the record multiple times saying he hates everything Venezuelan and will always rule against them in court). Not a lawyer....but to me arbitration proceedings with Venezuela guarantee two things:

1. Stall and delay the arbitration proceedings to the max

2. Stall, delay and avoid payment of any award to the max

This explains why Fung is avoiding arbitration at all costs. Even with a Dutch Uncle financial backer to see us thru 10 years of BS until Hugo is dead and buried...some of us on this board will be dead and buried by that point in time as well....either financially or literally. Of course by that point in time gold will have risen well beyond $10,000\ounce. What a bite in the ass that would be.
