Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
Are you actually saying that the Crystallex management should have know that Chavez would be as volotile, fickle, unpredictable, and unstable as he has shown to be? He is so egotistical that he is willing to let his country go tits up for the sake of his 'Bolivarian Revolutuion', everything else be damned. No amount of DD, could have forseen that. Look at all the huge multinationals that where there, and doing just fine. At the time Chavez started his nationalizations, Crystallex already had a rock solid contract to mine LC. That contract formula was what Chavez wanted. They have since been waiting for the permit, which they had been told was forthcoming.
When your talking about 20-30 million ounzes of gold, you don't just give up when your into it as much and as far as KRY was/is. And as far as being on good terms with officials in the VZ government, I have no doubt they have been. However, if you haven't noticed, that means nadda in this crazy mans country.
I believe that the only reason we are still there, besides the exemplory way our management has kept up the terms of the contract, is that they have not reacted out of frustration, not gone off have cocked and not made rash decisions because of ego or pride.
They have not acted like some here would have. Because if they had? We would now be locked out of LC, and lose forever any chance of taking part in the development and mining of one huge Mother F#*@ker, S#*t L*#d of GOLD, worth $15-$25 a share in any half friendly country by now!!
Arbitration you say?.....only for weak of heart, those locked out, and not talking with the government, or just too stupid to take a deep breath and wait it out.
