so why dont we either start charging for service or HANG A BIG F'N SIGN OUTSIDE THAT SAYS "CRYSTALLEX WATER TREATMENT PLANT" OR CRYSTALLEX FREE MEDICAL TO BANANAHEADS"????? that way maybe we could read about the good stuff we're financing and how the locals love us...instead of always getting beat on and then getting insulted....

If only it was that easy. I have to believe most of the local already know what Kry has done and continues doing. These aren't the people being interviewed or quoted. The whole press information is political and the comments in print have nothing to do with the reality of what is happening.

There is no way to win a battle of words or perception when the other side controls the press. I can tell you from experience that I have been on the same side Kry finds themselves. Even with the evidence to prove an article wrong and a promise to print my rebuttal the paper changed it's stance and did not print the information I spent days researching.

Kry is in the same boat. Even if the could pay to have the truth printed it would be countered by many opposing stories. The only place the truth will help us is if we end up going to arbitration. Why do you think VZ wants to settle with us but is fine with others going to arbitration. VZ will lose in arbitration because we have been fully complaint with the MOC and continue to be.

realistically, i believe venezuela (with it's current government) has pretty much told us no...but, we continue to finance the water/medical.....i dont know that this was required under the MOC (to continue to operate them)...

There are some gray areas of the MOC that may be open for interpenetration such as Kry continuing to pay for the medical center, security, water treatment plant etc. While it puts a larger financial burden on the company they continue to go the extra mile in case we end up in arbitration. All these costs are being added to our total expenditures in VZ and will be factored in when figuring out our total investment. I believe Kry is being prudent when we consider the current expenditures for these facilities against the 1/2 billion we already have invested in VZ and the potential arbitration claim of 2+ billion.
