Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
we really need to get our side of the story out somehow....otherwise, when hugo is replaced we might still get the boot because our MOC was signed under hugo and everyone down there thinks we are the cause of the delay in opening the mine...we need press/local understanding of our situation and action.
CJR, I think you are giving too much importance to what you read in the VZ press or in RC's rag. IMHO people know the truth but they are the ones who are being quoted in the news. The majority of VZ press is a political tool used to spew propaganda. The same goes for unions and their workers.
You make is sound like if we could get our story out to the public we would get the permit. The public that is interested in LC already knows the reason. The unemployed looking for jobs know. The illegal miners who don't want Kry to mine LC know. The mayor and governor know the truth but how has that helped us? They will continue to use LC as a political tool.
The National Assembly know the truth about KRY. How has that helped us? VZ like many countries in the world, have a corrupt government and political system that doesn't care about what is true, what is right or what is best for the people.
Hanging signs and sending bills is useless. VZ owes billions right now in unpaid bills. I seriously doubt that sending in a couple thousand or hundred thousand in bills for services will even be noticed. Also who would they send the bills to since a VZ agency hasn't accepted the projects yet. Would you send the directly to Sanz or Hugo?
IMHO the only thing Fung and Kry can do right now other than arbitration is to find out what VZ wants to get the permit to start LC and facilitate the solution without doing anything illegal that might cause the courts to void our MOC.
