Hugo wants the giving of the permit to CHINA to be a big deal. Neither VZ or China care about the timing. Kry shareholders however want this damn thing done ASAP.

IMHO the timing of our deal was thrown off earlier this year when Hu Jintao was supposed to come to VZ but changed his plans because of the massive earthquake in Qinghai. Since neither China or VZ care about the timing (LC isn't going anywhere) there were no plans made to have Jintao come back to VZ for a photo Op.

Hugo on the other hand wants this to be a VZ/China deal with a photo Op. I think things will move forward when Hugo travels to China after the elections.

Though he did not inform the date, Chavez expressed that the agenda of the visit will be established after the electoral process on September 26.

“We will soon be in Beijing. We will not say the date, but after our domestic commitments we will visit Hu Jintao,” he said.
