A little diappointed this had to happen. But its not all bad I guess.
I just hope that Fung hasn't forgot about us shareholders, who have supported him this whole way, and that this is just a negotiation tactic, that unfortunately had to happen.
Either way, Fung and our underwriters should have done more to close this PP and justify all the fees we've paid them over the years. Heck, we must have given Maquarie/Orion a $100 million in fees over the years. how about a refund? lol.
Anyway, I think we'll be ok. Or at least I hope.
maybe one of our legal experts here can explain to me. In the CCAA court proceedings, how do they determine what an asset is worth? Is there an independant valuator of some sort? For example, if we have professional valuation firms who analyze our case and value it at for example $400 million, and provide this report to a judge. Are the creditors allowed to get the whole thing, even if the assets are greater than their claim?
Guess I'm drinking the same kool-aid as everyone else here.
Cheers,
FK.
