If, indeed, Chavez actually has cancer (I have my doubts) we've heard this "his days are numbered" song since last summer.

I believe KRY's chances for any settlement improve if Chavez is gone. I think we'd be better off if he is not re-elected. Such a change of office might show the world that Ven is willing to concede that the Chavez dream of Bolivarian socialism has destroyed their country.

But, if Chavez does die, I, for one, won't shed a tear.

I expect his funeral would be well attended in much the same way as was the funeral of Harry Cohn. Cohn was the despised head of Columbia Pictures in the 40's and it's said that his funeral was very well attended because half the mourners showed up just to make sure he was really dead.
