In the long term, if KRY survives into arbitration, I believe his death would allow Venezuela to reach a better settlement for us in a shorter period of time.

I wouldn't be surprised if the D.I.P. funding worked out between Tenor and management assumes Chavez's death and therefore a better environment for a relatively quick settlement. Hence the dropoff from 10% to 2% at $700 M.

The quicker the settlement, the more likelihood of greater compromise and therefore the lesser amount of money involved and the worse it is for us.

Hedge funds think only of short term profits. Management gets their 10%. They make out like bandits.

IMHO they are counting on Chavez's death to get in and out quickly. A surgical strike if you will.
