That could last a very long time - at a guess maybe 0 days plus/minus 0 days.

You need to come up with a better inaccurate justification. How about: opting in is like buying a lottery ticket but one which costs you nothing up front and you only pay for if you win. Now that sounds like a great deal (even if it isn't quite true).
