hogey,
I think there is a big distinction between car batteries and what EFL is producing for forklifts. Car batteries are becoming like cell phone batteries. Lower cost, low margin, commuter distance and low cycle life. Isn't that why EFL went looking for a more demanding, larger format market that would require and appreciate their capacity and cycle life. Not sure they're even interested in car batteries.
IMO, ... if one believes the hype about the batteries, EFL's product is too much for the car market. They would have to chop their battery characteristics to get pricing much lower to compete with other company offerings.
I'm thinking they continue to pursue bus, forklift, 24 hr a day robotic type applications. So any thoughts of car battery production is a long shot to me.
