Message: Here I sit wondering why? (hoov this ones for you)

Thanks for posting these questions for Hoov. You are saying what we have all been thinking. You have the added benefit of working in the industry so it is good to see that your DD is saying the same as my own and many others I'm sure.

My guess at why CMM is trading so low is:

1. The company came very close to bankruptcy not much more than a year ago. In Nov - Dec 2008 the sp was between 2 and 3 cents. In July 2008 Lamaque was shut down and the employees were laid off. Until the new owners arrived, CMM was having trouble getting financing. Many investors have not forgotten the past history with this company.

2.Margaret Kent, alias Peggy Whitt , was the former CEO of Royal Oak Mines. As recently as last month there were news reports dealing with the consequences of the lengthy strike and deaths in Yellowknife. This incident and others have resulted in Ms. Kent/Whitt being branded as untrustworthy. When I first started following CMM in January 2009, I was warned not to touch CMM because "you can not trust Peggy". Since then I have heard this repeated in many circles. I suspect many investors still have the same opinion. After seeing what she has done in the last year at Lamaque and the way she has brought value to CMM by acquiring Lamaque and Peru, I have concluded that this reputation is not deserved.

3. There are a few of us on Ag, yourself included, that have followed CMM and are well aware that this is a well funded company with excellent assets and a good management team. However we are in the minority. Most investors do not have CMM on the radar screen YET. Some that are aware of CMM are discounting it because of Peggy. Peter Ball told me last week that they are going on a tour talking to analysts and investors wordwide. This will go a long way to raising that awareness of our potential.

4. Personally I am more excited about the acquisition phase of CMM than I am of the pouring of gold at Lamaque. I believe that the sp will slowly rise for the next 4 months but we will only get the recognition we deserve when we buy out another producer. I expect that could happen as early as September. Ms Kent is chomping at the bit to take off the miners hat and go on the acquisition trail. This is her real strength. I believe she already has targets in mind. The new owners have made it clear that their objective is to become a mid-tier producer. I believe this will happen sooner rather than later.

I hope this answers your questions.
