BHP bid $130 share for Potash Corp of Saskatchewan and never budged. Yet the day it was announced, Potash gapped up and traded at $150-155 nearly the entire waiting period. BHP was not allowed by federal gov't to take them over and Potash jumped to $189/share pre split 3:1.
