Stephen Twyerould, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer and President
Mr. Twyerould has over 29 years of experience in the exploration and mining industry, 17 of which were spent with WMC Resources Ltd. He managed WMC's gold geology group comprising 50 geologists across three operational sites, greenfields exploration and offshore development sites. He has extensive corporate, operations and exploration experience, covering a wide range of commodities both within Australia and offshore. Mr. Twyerould has a proven track record of discovery and definition of world-class ore bodies. In addition, he has expertise in unlocking geological potential to deliver operational improvements and business growth. He helped take Reliance Mining (now Consolidated Resources, CSM-AU) from a market capitalization of AUS$3 million to AUS$100 million in 4 years. Mr. Twyerould received a doctorate in Geology and Geochemistry from the University of Oregon in 1997 and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1984.
Mark J. Morabito, B.A., J.D.
Executive Chairman of the Board
Mr. Morabito has over 15 years’ experience in public markets with a strong focus on junior mining with extensive experience in capital-raising and corporate development. Mr. Morabito founded and has been the principal driving force behind a number of successful resource development companies including Alderon Iron Ore Corporation, Crosshair Energy Corporation, Excelsior Mining Corp and others. He led the team that struck an off-take agreement between Alderon and Hebei, China’s largest steel producer, worth over $400 million. He is also the founder of King & Bay West, which specializes in identifying, funding, developing and managing resource-based opportunities, with a special interest in the junior mining sector. Mr. Morabito has a BA from Simon Fraser University and completed his J.D. at the University of Western Ontario.
Roland Goodgame, Ph.D.
VP Exploration
Mr. Goodgame has been involved in the mining industry for over 27 years and has held senior roles in several large mining companies. He served as Senior Geologist of Anglo American PLC from March 2002 to January 2007 and was responsible for Asia/Pacific nickel and copper exploration and project evaluation/generation. Prior to this, he spent 14 years with WMC Resources Ltd., where he gained extensive experience in small and large scale gold and nickel mining. He received his doctorate in Geology and Geochemical Modeling at the University of Oregon in 1997. Dr. Goodgame graduated with a B.Sc. in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1987.
Carlo Valente, BBA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Valente is a chartered accountant with a background in corporate transactions, public markets and accounting obtained over a fifteen year span with the Vancouver and Milan offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Valente was most recently Managing Director and his focus over the last twelve years was advising corporations, private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds on M&A transactions, of which a significant portion was in the natural resources sector. Mr. Valente graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1997 with a BBA and obtained his CA designation in 2000. He is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
JJ Jennex, B.A.
VP Corporate Affairs
Mr. Jennex has been active in both the junior resource industry and the international real estate sector for more than 12 years. During this time he has held numerous positions with both private and publically listed companies. Mr. Jennex will be responsible for all aspects of corporate communications with shareholders, media and all potential investors.
Sheila Paine
Corporate Secretary
Ms. Paine has over 20 years' experience as a legal assistant, specializing in corporate, securities and regulatory matters. Ms. Paine was a legal assistant to a senior partner in the securities department of a large international law firm for 11.5 years. During that time, Ms. Paine was responsible for, among other things, assisting clients with financings, regulatory filings, administering stock option plans, drafting agreements and other legal documents, and working with other staff of the law firm to coordinate the papering and closing of various transactions for public companies. Prior to that, Ms. Paine worked for 10 years as a legal assistant/document production specialist, in another large international law firm, mainly assisting with large securities based transactions for the firm’s public company clients.
