Ring of Fire Luncheon - part 1

Posted by: QQ_Girl on March 06, 2008 05:15PM

I will do this in bits and pieces so that you have something to read... lol

here's the first and strangest bit of all - when I got into the taxi in front of the Royal York to head home, you won't believe what was playing on the radio.... yes, you guessed it "Ring of Fire" and it was Johnny singing it - is that fate or what?

I am hoping that maybe by the time I have typed everything Agoracom will have the presentation up live, if they don't then I will summarize that for you, but first I will give you the extra bits that I learned by talking to people before, during and afterwards in the Library at the RY where they were displaying the core.

The very first person I met in the lobby was Glen Wabasse, from the Council of Webequie - I spoke to him for quite awhile and asked him how his people were feeling about the whole situation. He said that everyone was thrilled with what was happening, many of them are now investors in the various companies and they are well employed. Many as line cutters, cooks etc. The Chief was hoping to be there, however, his nephew (4 months old) is very ill and they had brought him home (from the hospitals) to Webequie to be comfortable and to be with his family - thoughts and prayers for the family would be appreciated. Chief Harry Baxter, (I believe from Marten Falls), another Chief Sam____ and Jamie Hyland were the other First Nation representatives present at the luncheon.

The next important piece of information was in the Core Display - something I am not sure that most of us know...

Hole 27 139.5 to 141 m

more to come.... QQ

Ring of Fire Luncheon - part 2

there was a gentleman standing next to the core just before I left who was very knowledgeable in geology, I am sorry, I did not catch his name, just Nick - he was talking about the core and showing me the pentlandite, nice and shiny and bright, and telling me how it is every geologist's dream to see core like that - he also told me that this core is very special because of the coarse nature of it - it indicates that it took a while to cool and when it is coarse like that it is much easier to see the indicators and also much easier to mine and separate the minerals out, because it was 'cooler' they are not all so 'attached' to each other ... he also mentioned about the fact that everyone seems hung up on tonnage - he has one motto "grade, grade, grade" (followed by "location location location" which in this case is surface") these grades are off the scale so he basically said "shut up about the tonnage - this is massive and easily mined" someone nearby commented "just the rhodium alone pays for the mine"

I also heard that the head geo from Voisey Bay spent a long time at the display at PDAC looking at the core and shaking his head and basically being "jealous".

Oh man, how could I forget - I met Richard!!! yeah!! I met him before the luncheon started in the lobby and said hello to him from all of you/us and then after in the library I spoke to him again briefly and met Mr. Harvey at the same time. I also met Malcolm Finlay who is "Elaine's" husband and a long time friend and supporter of Mr. Nemis. He was talking to me about the New Brunswick project and how little attention it receives and that it is very important and has the 43-101 in place and has for a few months. Another quiet piece of this company that is going to maximise the shareholder returns.

I also met Mr. John Aschwanden from Orbit Garant Drilling who is "the drilling company" - he told me they are drilling 70 metres per shift per drill and there is a new drill being shipped in two weeks (approx.) and another being shipped on the 15th of April (again barring any delays). He is definitely the hero of the moment and was a pleasure to meet.

okay, this is the last of the 'extra info' there is a ton of staking happening still, and a lot of it is happening in the inner part of the Flow (it is not a ring!!!) - I do not know exactly what they are expecting to find there as the person I was speaking to was being extremely tight lipped about it, I just know they were excited - that is the second time I have I spoken to someone, in the past few days, that was excited about the inner part - if I remember back to my conversation with Mr. White at IBK he indicated then that the inner piece was the "magma", the edges were the VMS - so if anyone has speculation... I for one, would love to hear it

oh yes, another thing I learned last week and don't think I emphasized and which was emphasized today... I saw a 'ring of fire' map at the Goldeye booth on which they had drawn the approximate size of the Sudbury mine on top of the ring of fire.... the size difference is amazing and at the presentation today it was repeated that this is "3 times the size of Sudbury"

I will give you a quick summary of the presentation and luncheon next as I don't see a link to it yet....

Ring of Fire Luncheon - part 4

Posted by: QQ_Girl on March 06, 2008 05:52PM

there were approximately 600 people at the luncheon - the who's who of the ROF as well of PDAC, MiningMatters, IBK and other financial companies, Agoracom who's who, students from various universities etc.

there was much excitement in the room and everyone seemed very happy to be there and to be a part of it all

we were all given the new book out "More than Free Gold" by Michael Barnes - Mineral Exploration in Canada since World War II and Mr. Barnes was present and spoke - he talked about the $45 billion impact that mining has on Canada and talked about his next book also

Dr. Jim Gill spoke and he is predominant in MiningMatters (please google this and read more about it as it is a worthy cause) he was relating the fact that "mining (resources) and education = quality of life and that access to minerals has a direct correlation to quality of life in a country - without minerals we would have no cutlery, no computers, no cars, no refrigerators and most important, no golf clubs... lol

he spoke about the importance of China being industrialized and the impact that this is having and will continue to have on the prices of the metals - the demand will remain strong and China will continue to increase their demand - the good times will continue in the resource sector, access to capital should remain good - however, the only cloud is the diminishing supply of talent... qualified and experienced people - MiningMatter is working to try to make mining a desirable career path, helping students and people to understand that it is not a "dinosaur" that destroys the environment etc - fewer and fewer young people are entering the business and this is disasterous - they are working to take the message to grade school students, colleges, universities and First Nations schools

Ring of Fire Luncheon - part 5

Posted by: QQ_Girl on March 06, 2008 06:08PM

Mr. Bill White from IBK spoke next:

- Hole 5 Core worth $3000 per ton

- introduced Ed Thompson who is fundraising for MiningMatters by asking for flow through share donations from the companies

- $61 million has been raised to date for NOT by IBK and that will be $77 million shortly when the warrants kick in

- the share price is undervalued at the current share price

- 3 times the size of Sudbury

- 300 target anomalies

There was then a great video presentation and I hope that Agoracom will be able to make that available here along with the video of the luncheon itself.

Richard Nemis spoke next and spoke about their 3 main projects

1. Tungsten in New Brunswick 2. Windfall

3. ROF - which has the best hole ever drilled - he talked a bit about the history and how they saw these great targets on ____ they had just enough money to drill one hole ($400,000) and they got lucky on the first one with John Harvey as the "guiding light"

he then talked about how well John Harvey/Neil Novak/David Graham work together and decide where to drill next

they were drilled that when they drilled the step-out DE2, 2 km away, they hit and he said that DE2 is related to DE1 - the system is at least 2 km in length and stretching to 7 km and could be larger

he talked about VB but I will leave that to you to watch in person

-mentioned they are adding 3 to 5 drills, again 3x Sudbury and they have been mining Sudbury for 120 years - $250 million will be spent in the area over the next 3 years

"it has been a long time since there has been a find like this"

he was asked about 'majors' yes they are negotiating and also the majors are giving advice and strategizing - .... you can hear/see the rest of that answer yourself, my notes are sketchy

he was asked about the in situ rock value - he said the 43-101 will be completed in a few months.......... DE1 is not closed off, they believe it is open at depth and plunging, they will be coming back to further delineate it

--------------

okay - that appears to be the end of my notes :)

it was an honour to be there, and thank you to you all for being there with me in spirit - I sat next to a gentleman from an LLC company and he said "you seem to be so excited about this" hello! yes!!!! get on board!!!

there might be more that I know that I have forgotten so if you have specific questions I will do my best to answer them
