Did Noront protect itself?

http://tmx.quotemedia.com/article.php?newsid=33093241&qm_symbol=NOT

Noront just killed potential for a Cliff takeover offer. However did they protect themselves for fear of Cliff takeover for their chrome or did they feel Cliffs would not expand past KWG and SPQ and got rid of something worthless for more land? Did Noront get wind that Cliffs is under takeover negotiation and they wanted to protect themselves from a larger Major?

Either way, Noront is now firmly dedicated to primarily nickel with no chromite confusion.

Obviously Probe wants to be taken over by Cliffs. Their future is no longer in their hands, but the whim of Cliffs. They are the baseball team whose run out of games and their dreams of playoffs are dependent on the wins or loss of another team. They are teh sitting duck hoping to be shot to ascend.

What does this mean for Fancamp shareholders? Hopefully Noront got Probe land because they new probe has nickel. If it was defensive, that’s great. If it was simply tit-for-tat, that’s not good for us. It would indicate Cliffs doesn’t want more chromite, noront knows it, and we've wasted drill money at C-5.

I'm curious to see how Probe SP reacts.
