One rule that has survived the test of time is that while the ship is afloat, the captain is supreme, and it is his duty to to be there to the end. The sad fact is that MW made sure there was a lifeboat available for himself before dealing with the sinking ship.
I am not unhappy with the way he dealt with things, as it put a lot of change into my pockets, as did the subsequent SPQ deal. I do though, often ponder the situation of NOT being successful in their bid for FWR, and then a subsequent wrapup of SPQ/KWG. Imagine what a consolidated group of these properties could demand as opposed to the piecemeal way they were acquired.
