Resource projects cover more than 1,713 km2 in three provinces at various stages, including the following: hematite magnetite iron formations, titaniferous magnetite & hematite, nickel/copper/PGM, chromite, Volcanogenic Massive and gold.
1) FNC crew took a break around the end of December, as many companies’ crew did, because it's the holidays and families await. Smith was hoping to get a Crone down deep at C1 prior to drilling. I don't believe he was successful, or at least he did some drilling, but not all of it. Now they're back at it again, now that the rather long break is over. I’m not sure if it’s to continue a previous C-1 hole at depth for Crone and then select a target or if the target is already selected and they're continuing a hole for nickel. Either way, Mike is freezing up there for us.
I know a few investors who took profit from both FNC and CHM today: some for profit and some to cover 2010's fourth quarter taxes, so they'll have to come up with less in April. We forget in our Champion swagger that owning 100% McFaulds with a nickel strike could deliver many multiples.

2) I think Luker has been doing some good thinking and it's worth researching. Has anyone made contact with Sprott or National Inflation Organization (http://inflation.us/)?

I'd love to get a few quotes from either of them. What did Sprott see in Fancamp that made them buy in? We've been talking about how undervalued FNC has been. What was that push which made them make a deal with MF for FNC shares? What are the next plans? Have they made contact with FNC? What back deals are going on? Perhaps they've already talked to CHM's Larsen and were about to be sold for a buck? Maybe they've talked to Pat? I'm sure there is much intrigue behind the scenes.
I previously might have dismissed conspiracy theories with Mineralfields. My believe was that MF is invested in so many companies, and usually call the CEO's before making any moves, so as "not to wear out our welcome." However, I'm aware that company management approaches them for approval prior to a company move all the time. So it's not as though they are sitting their passively, which was always a strange unsettled contradiction in my mind. But then when they made their 4 to 5 million dollar exchange with Sprott (assuming it is them), they had not notified FNC management that this deal was made.
Many could not help but interpret this as a proactive move by Mineralfields. There has not been an explanation on their part. I can only assume it was because they wanted to remain as passive as possible, yet at the same time wanted to get FNC moving a bit to benefit the rest of their FNC holdings and know Sprott is the team to do it.
Smith said he's not aware of who MF sold to, so he is either being coy or he really doesn't know.
Either way, this move is an unknown. Even though Glorieux feels Sprott will increase the SP further, unknowns upset my calm. Always lurking behind the advantages of a low OS is disadvantage of being easily sold out from under to a hostile?
This is what is needed.
a) confirmation and some statements by Sprott.
b) Some statements by Mineralfields.
c) a high market cap average so a buyout offer is high.

3) Spinoffs. If Magpie is to be spun out, it needs some props. There's a lot of information we don't know about. Coram results? How serious is the interested buyer who scheduled a flight to visit the site? Some rumors indicate a very serious buyer –Chinese?.We've been waiting quite a while for some updates. I'm really curious what Fouad and the expert he's working with has compiled. As Hoov pointed out Magpie's titaniferous magnetites do not lend itself to traditional/magnetic spearation, yet Smith has said new methods have made Magpie economically attractive. We will see.

After some more phones and emails, I got some more updates to the updates of the update. Smith said that Magpie metallurgical seems very sellable. Pat is four square behind the magpie spinoff. They’ll be no opposition there.
If Lac Lamalee is to be spun out, it too needs some props. Dedicated money, realistic plan, and time schedule for exploring it.We need to feel confident that we can hit the iron multiple times. Smith seems confident Lac Lamalee is loaded. There seems to be an understanding by everyone I talk to that the iron is there.I imagine the geophysics of iron is different from nickel or chromite. Perhaps it’s more straightforward and obvious.
Smith says that Champion is a unique and very special property. It will produce billions, and they’ve only discovered two properties. I’d like to ask him if Adriana is also a unique special property? Didn’t Wisco buy into Adriana’s 4.9 bil tons of iron? Smith thinks there is no way Cliffs will let Arcelormittal take Champion. He also doesn’t think Arcelor will let Cliffs take Champion. So he think were are gearing up for a battle between Cliffs and Arcelor for Champion.
