Fancamp Appoints Jean Lafleur Chairman of the Board

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 9, 2012) - Fancamp Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:FNC) ("Fancamp" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jean Lafleur, M. Sc., P. Geo., as Chairman of the Board, replacing Mr. Robert N. Granger, Q.C., who remains a director and whose efforts have been appreciated. Mr. Lafleur has a wide range of experience in the field of mineral exploration and development for 30 years. He has been active in Canada and internationally with a wide range of industry-leading companies, such as Newmont Mining Corp., Falconbridge Ltd., and Placer Dome Inc. Since 2003, he has been a mineral exploration consultant as President of PJLEXPL Mineral Exploration Inc., leading teams in the search for precious and base metals, nickel, PGE's, and industrial minerals. He is currently a Director of Champion Iron Mines Ltd, Gimus Resources Inc., and Guinea Iron Ore Ltd.; and VP Exploration at Aurvista Gold Corp. He was one of the principal founders of Champion Iron Mines Ltd. He will greatly assist management in its exploration and development policies. The unlocking of shareholder value remains a top priority given the varied nature of the Company's assets.
