Member Inquiries, Feedback and Testimonials
Good Afternoon tgarfield.
Thanks for your reply. Yes a single vote for someone holding 600 activity points will cause a huge fluctation with your rank. If you are given a vote of "2" by a single member with 600 activity points, you would have "1200" Ranking Points. If you are then given a "5", you will end up with significantly more points; the opposite would happen if you were given a 1.
This is a rare occasion however; if you have accumulated 600 Activity from posts, it would be difficult to escape being rated for that long. The more you post the more other members will rate your posts, and the better the content of your posts are the sooner you will accumulate a higher ranking.
While a formula on paper would not take too long to figure out, converting it to digital format in the WEB 2.0 world would be which we need not rush into.
We persistently monitor voting patterns on our backend in order to maintain our ranking system as indicative as ones behaviour within AGORACOM. Please rest assured that any instance of abusing our voting system, flooding boards or constant violations are tackled promptly.
Thanks again for your messages and your feedback and we look forward to hear more from you within the AGORACOM community.
Regards,
AGORACOM
