With all due respect Wolf411, I disagree! I think this introduces a double system & makes things even more complicated. Better as Agoracom suggests to temporarily downgrade a person with the rating system we have or simply ignore the thumbs up - in which case less attention is given to the post.

A thumbs down is subject to interpretation by a given member - may be positive to one & negative to another. Then 2 signs needed perhaps - number of thumbs Up & number of thumbs down. People already give a thumbs up often for some of the silliest posts just to attract attention - in the end, sometimes the thumb doesn`t mean what it should!
