New Discovery Resulting in a 20KM Mineralized Gold Belt
Okay...had a great chat with Sasha yesterday. A 'state of the nation' as I like to call it. As I expected he said there is a bit of a buzz over there and it's exciting times in the Beauce. As he spoke, I jotted points down, so I will roll that format over here.
-The Beauce is comprised of many farms and such. It's not particularly an economic powerhouse. I'm not sure I would say it's a depressed area but I have a feeling it's like the tobacco belt in Southern Ontario. It's circa 1970's style...time for an update.
-The reception among landowners, employees, locals has been very receptive up to this point. It's a local crew working on local property. I got the sense that many of the people know each other.
- The municipality resurfaces the road to the GNH property every year of about 300-500 metres.
- They budget 3-5k per each truck just for repairs, a lot of which is for suspension! Obviously the road ends somewhere.
-There was talk of a Novagold JV with GNH in early 2007. And a buyout. Management didn't bite at the time because they had just started the project and had raised $4.2M. However, Nova Gold was instrumental in discovering the extensions to Timmins as well as the potential depth of the deposit. NG said these types of bodies were 'bottomless' basically cut off by economics.
- There was an influx of investor money from another company that recently did well. The Hoov factor was actually a coincidence. Both factors made for a nice break out...looking for more of those!
-Results are not back, there are no leaks.
-Their field office location is in Saint Justine.
- There was mention of a railroad and/or roads for shipping ore and that it may already be in place.
-FSG area has 4 legitimate gold targets and 3 base metal anomalies. 1 already has a 100m trench and the samples are in the lab! Another is drill ready.
-Laval mountain is drill ready.
-The equipment was moved over to the 88 Zone last week. North and East of it. This area will have the overburden cleared. If they continue to hit sediment, they will drill. If they hit the solid quartz, they will trench.
-One of the main ideas that is difficult to pinpoint at this early stage is the company direction. I asked Sasha a few questions that would shed some light on this. I think the basic idea is that it is too soon to know, they are certainly open to all avenues (I think this is a great thing) but at this point the company is pushing very hard to uncover and delineate as many resources as quickly as possible in order to build their value. As Justice mentioned, given the amount of work required to do this, there will probably be further capital raises in the future but their goal is to have as little dilution as possible.
-I also remember from the conference that Candido and people close to him own around 40-50% of GNH and their average cost is quite a bit higher than where the stock trades now. Point being, it's his baby to reap and sow and I think that the management is properly motivated.
As always, read my stuff at your own risk. I am comfortable with my personal risk in my investments. I know I've spewed a lot stuff on this forum lately and it's a lot to take in. I think I've been around here for 3 months which is quite senior on this forum! (Justice is like a vampire he's been here so long, big props) I spent late November and much of December learning as much as I could about GNH after Hoov mentioned it to me over a beer at the Noront AGM (see one of my first posts on this forum). I only wish I invested the day after he told me instead of a month! I'm happy to share my thoughts and research and help get people up to speed - it's great to see all the thumbs in general.
And one last thought on the Hoov recommendation. I'll never forget when he mentioned it to me. A bunch of us were at Badali's afterwards and there were like3 or 4 of us listening to the Hoov. The guy had like 12 brochures from all of these mining companies in his backpack! He was pulling them out and talking about this property...or these results...this president.... this geologist...yada yada yada...I couldn't keep up as I was half in the bag. I do know that he knows an absolute crapload of information about probably every mining co that will be at the PDAC for example, and that this was his #1 pick for value. It was less than 7 cents at the time and he could have cared less if anyone at the table bought it.
