As I understand it Jim Tilsley's calculation of 1000 m economical depth was based on historical price of gold values (~ $ 1050-1100). If the price of gold continues to rise as some here feel it may then we may also see increases in economical tonnage at depth. Of course this relies on Tilsley's assumption that this deposit continues at depth. I sure wouldn't argue with him on that point. Moreover, I have heard rumors that current models suggest that some of the parallel veins seen at Timmins1/Ascot may be connected at depth, increasing the appeal for any company wanting to mine this.
