Obviously he liked what he saw - who better to report on it? Put it this way if James bought the shares and promoted than people will think - he's only promoting it because he has shares. As a consultant - he could report the Assays and visual walk through. Either way it could be considered a conflict but I think the consultant route is the safest avenue bottom line - he likes it..
