I kind of did some similar recon on those area plays. I was thinking that the claims adjacent to Beland might be particularly interesting as they had the strongest geochem results.

I asked Sasha about it when this news release came out and he said the terms were quite onerous, which as evidenced by the $4MM in expenditures required, I couldn't agree more.

If I had to take a stab at the logic, it's that GWR is expecting some big things from GNH in the near future so that they raise the appropriate capital. They have a market cap of under $10MM and are required to spend a minimum of $400k of expenditures in the first 12 months, starting a week ago. The pressure is ON.

From the get-go of my first investment in GNH I harassed Sasha about all the claims getting picked up all around them. I suppose at some point you have to be happy with just 20km of strike on one section of their claims which they believed to be the best of the region. :)

Interesting to be such a big part of a modern day staking rush, eh?
