That's true, although my interpretation is that he meant "significant" as in "an important peice of the puzzle" and not necessarily as "good".
If he knew that the results were good it would mean that they had already received said results back from the lab and if that were the case then they should have been released to the public shortly thereafter.
However, he wouldn't need to know the actual results to know that, whether good or bad, they're an important part of the story that they're trying to tell.
Anyway, hopefully the peices of the puzzle will start to come together in a timely fashion.
